I am not a history expert but I really have doubts in my mind for a book starting by stating that albanians descend from Scythians on one side and Macedonians on the other. That made me continue to read it more like a literary than a historical work.While I am not sure about the accuracy of its content this book is very well-written and easy to read for anyone, not the boring work I feared it to be.
Another reason I am giving it 4 stars is because of the names of the people and places, which were distorted at times beyond recognition. While perhaps to a foreigner one foreign name might sound the same as another, to me as an albanian it was really bothering to read supposedly albanian names not recognising them as such (an example Ali's mother name Hanko which in this book was Kamco) all because of being spelled completely wrong.

To many names, interesting history, if true. I found it hard to follow the cast of characters. Dissapointing story by Dumas.
This book is a brilliant read. It is full of tales of Murder, Money & Power at the fall of the Turkish Empire. I recommend this highly. Dumas is a amazing writer.
